Mailo has arrived

When I got out of work on Monday night I got a call from Eddie telling me that Megan was in labor and went to the hospital... 27 hours and dozens of phone calls later Mailo Kai West made his grand entrance into the world :o)

Megan and Mailo (pronounced My-low) are both doing wonderful. I talked to Megan today an she's a little tired and sore but very happy that he's here now and healthy :o)

Eddie went to visit and took some pictures for me (he's my hero!!!) and I thought I'd share them with all my friends and family... after all, that's what grandmas do, right?!!! :o)

Duke

Wow...
I can't believe I haven't posted since Sept 11th... Well, now that the election is over I will no longer be spending all of my time online reading about politics :o) Time to get back to some creative fun and just in time for the holidays too :) I LOVE this time of year :)

Anyways...Here are some pictures I promised to post of our new dog Duke... Heather talked Ed into saving him from the pound :o) I think he's a cross between a St. Bernard and a Great Dane but I'm not sure... some thing I am sure of though is he's big and slobbers all over you if you get near him LOL :) We've had him for about a month now and Kaylee is in her glory... she LOVES animals :) And this one knows it :) He loves the attention he gets when Kaylee is around :)

I'm sick that way :o( Ed thinks it's so wrong that I love to watch AFV and I laugh when people fall or get hurt but I just can help myself LOL :o)

Pregnancy Album

I made this pregnancy album for my beautiful (both inside and out) daughter Megan
to record all the memories of her pregnancy that I didn't think to record when I was pregnant with her but wish I had. I used paper bags for wine bottles that I found at the checkout line at Publix.
The cashier looked at me a little strange when I asked if I could take a few since I didn't even buy one bottle of wine LOL :o)

This is the front cover...

Page 1 with a line to record her due date...
which is December 31... I can't wait!!!

And page 2 for her to add a picture or a note about her doctor.

Page 3 for recording the day she heard his heartbeat for the first time :)

Page 4 for an ultrasound picture which she actually sent to me cuz she didn't know I was making this for her LOL :o) I surprised her :o)

The file opens to reveal....
It's a boy!!!

Page 6 with a spot to record the day she 1st felt Mailo kick... he's become very active and I'm so excited she gets to feel the joy of that :)

Page 7 for baby names she likes... I did this page before we knew she is having a boy... she's decided to call him Mailo (pronounced my-low) so I guess that's what she'll put here :o)

Page 8 for a picture of her growing belly

Page 9 says I can't see my feet anymore and growing and glowing.

Page 10 for delivery day pictures... which I hope to be there to take myself!!!

And the last page for a picture of her holding him.

These are some tags I stuck in the pockets :o)

Hello Layout

I did this layout using a sketch from the 52 Sketches... 52 Weeks Blog, challenge week #34

You can see the sketch here http://juliebonner.typepad.com/52_sketches_52_weeks/ I love this blog... the sketches really get my mojo going and Julie's layouts using them are awesome examples to go by :o)
Anyways... This layout is of Frank and Ty from Trading Spaces when they had the exciting opportunity to meet my sweet little Trevor and Kaylee. Trevor and Kaylee we're not impressed LOL :o) These pictures were taken at a Home Show in West Palm Beach that we went to with Aunt Betty Lou and as soon as I figure out the date they were taken I'm going to add it somewhere :)
Mom... you can click on the picture to see the pictures, saw blades and hacksaw better :o)
I'm not happy with the title... any suggestions for a different one would be greatly appreciated!

Trevor is playing tackle football this year for the Antioch Redskins. He was so cute when he tried his uniform and helmet on for the first time. He was so excited :o) Then he had to try it out and practiced some passes with Kaylee in the living room. I put this little slide show together to show you how cute he looks in his gear so grab some popcorn and a nice cold drink of _____ (I'll let you fill in that blank lol) kick your feet up... well, sit down first, then kick your feet up so you don't fall flat on your butt lol :o) Then enjoy the show :) Of course you'll have to click the picture to get it started. Are you still reading? Prove it by leaving a comment or emailing me telling me you read this to the end and I'll put your name in the drawing for some happy snail mail at the end of the month :o)

My Baby Is Having A Baby!!!

And....
Megan went for an ultrasound and the images showed clearly that she's having a boy :) She is planning on naming him Mailo Kai West .... Mailo is pronounced "my low" and means sweet son of Megan in Hawaiin :) Well... I just made that part up but it sounded good LOL :o)
I can't wait to meet sweet little Mailo... I sure hope these next few months go by fast :o)

Free stuff !!!

Now, anyone who knows me well, knows I like using coupons and I love getting free stuff. Those who don't know me well just learned something new about me :o) Anywhoo... I've been visiting a message board lately that gives links for all kinds of freebies and I really look forward to opening my mailbox everyday now. I get free samples at least 3 or 4 days a week... it's so much fun. One of my favorite freebies was a trial size tube of Vaseline lotion for men... It smells sooooooooooo good!!! I love it when Ed or Trevor use it :) I will definitely be buying the largest size bottle I can find of this lotion!
Did you notice I used the word "was" when I said "One of my favorite freebies was" ? That's because I got a knock on the door the other day and opened it to find the UPS guy with a box for me :o) I signed up for a free "tote" from Oprah magazine and I thought it was just going to be a tote but the tote actually came filled :o) This is what was in it...

If you click on the picture you can see everything better... but... IT WAS ALL FREE !!! :) The orange tote bag has an O Magazine label on it and it zips closed or you can fold it up the size of a cd case and carry it in your purse. I was all excited when I took the white ribbon off the green Contessa tote that's in this picture.... thinking I could use the ribbon on a layout or something (my scrapbooking/cardmaking friends understand this thought process LOL) and when I opened the tote there was an envelope inside with a coupon for a FREE frozen Contessa meal which I cashed in today at Publix... it was worth 6.99 :o)

If you would like to start getting free stuff in the mail too, leave me a comment or email me and I'll share my tips with you :o)

A Shoutout for Sheetload

I found this really great site for making cards... lots of them with just a few sheets of paper... gotta love that, right? :) But what I really love is that they give the cutting dimensions for the sketches they post along with lots of great examples from the awesome designers. If you like to make cards and haven't been to the site, I recommend that you go take a look. I'm hooked :)
Just go to http://sheetload.blogspot.com/ to check it out :)

Jump

I made this layout for the Page Maps challenge at the 2peasinabucket.com site :)
This place on the Cape is so awesome... we just happened to drive by it on our way to the tip of the Cape and of course, my little gymnast, Megan saw it and begged me to go back. I was so glad I did. Megan and Eddie and Aubri had a ball there and I didn't have to worry about them falling off while jumping cuz the trampolines are set at ground level :) We made it a point to go back everytime we went to Cape Cod. I hope it's still there the next time I go so Trevor and Kaylee can try it :) Mom, You can click on the picture of the layout to see it better :o)

Sand Sculpture

We went to the beach today and the kids built a sand castle LOL :) Not really, but isn't this cool? I found this picture while I was surfing the web today and thought I'd share it with ya'll :) I'd love to go see a sand sculpture contest. I'll have to do a google search and see if there are any coming up sometime soon :) Oh well...I'm off to bed now :) Sweetdreams :o)

Better Together

Happy

Happy

Sunday

everyone

:o)

I did this layout for the Low Stress - Use Your Stash challengeat 2peasinabucket.com

The pictures are of my beautiful stepdaughter Heather and her fiance' Jarrod who are expecting their 1st baby in December :o) I asked them if they have a "song" and they told me one of their songs is Better Together by Jack Johnson. I happen to love that song (have it on my mp3) so I thought it would be perfect for the title and journaling on this layout :o)
